Tawse Limestone Ridge North 2016 is an off-dry Riesling. Wine grapes are organically and biodynamically farmed and the wine is estate bottled. This is a racy, mouth-watering Riesling with mineral, lime, grapefruit and flinty flavours on the palate. Incredible balancing act between sweetness and acidity. Pair with grilled pork chops and parsley spaetzle.

Riesling food pairings: roast chicken, shrimp tempura, grilled salmon.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Powerful nose with plenty of intense petrol and smoke followed by ripe McIntosh apple. Palate is a balanced offdry, acidity really comes through to offset the residual sugar. A touch sweeter on the finish with even more petrol, honey, apricot jam, and apple pie filling. Certainly a hot vintage Riesling, but the important acidity had been preserved. Ideal for Chinese takeout, chicken tenders sprinkled with powdered chilies, or curries with a little heat.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This was the Gold Medal Winner of the national Wine Awards in 2018. Love this organic, petrol infused, crisp, Riesling with bright lime citrus, fresh kiwi, and hints of tropical melon. The brisk, lemon zest infused acidity balances well against the lingering sweetness. An exceptional Riesling. Paired this with green Thai curry to offset the heat. Exceptional. 91 points - tasted July 2019
From Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment, Tawse Limestone Ridge North 2016 Riesling is just off-dry enough to enjoy with mildly spiced curries and sushi dishes. The Riesling wine grapes were organically and biodynamically farmed and the wine is estate bottled. There is mouth-watering acidity on this Riesling with lime, lemon zest, grapefruit and flinty mineral flavours. Great acidity for food and a perfect match for seafood dishes like seared, smoked scallops. This vintage was awarded Gold at the 2018 National Wine Awards of Canada. - Community Wine Reviews
