Superb and enticing aromas of lime, hazelnut, cornmeal and green apples. Fantastic balance and persistence of flavours. Quivering delight in its lovely suspension between mouth-watering acidity and ripe fruit flavours.

Tantalus Riesling food pairings: charcuterie, seafood, shellfish, soft cheeses, roast turkey, ham.

Reviews and Ratings

It is often said that Riesling is the most
versatile of the white grape varieties and when made in the dry style it truly becomes a wine for all occasions.

Our 2008 vintage is endlessly refreshing when
enjoyed on its own. Its ample concentration
and structure will also satisfy those looking for a white wine capable of pairing with a multitude of cuisines. An aromatic bouquet, lively citrus and passion fruit flavors suffused with clean, juicy acidity define this cool vintage wine.

The 2008 growing season saw us transition to
organic vineyard practices, a big step considering the safety nets of conventional farming no longer apply. Long stretches of sunshine were frequently punctuated by light winds and cooler daytime temperatures. As a result picking was delayed to allow the extra hang time necessary to properly ripen the fruit. Once the harvest started we were blessed by sunshine and warm temperatures, a welcome bonus for our vineyard team.

Prolonged ferments at low temperatures,
followed by early bottling insure the subtle
flavor nuances of this vintage were retained.
