Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous, long, pure, and smooth. Oodles of black cherry, raspberry and anise take on black tea, dried flowers and dried tobacco in the mid palate and the finish. Exquisite Barb for under 45 bucks. 93 Points.
Taliano Michele Ad Altiora (2012) is a Barbaresco from the Piedmont wine region. The wine is fragrant with rose petal, violets and red berries.
"Ad Altiora" translates to "even higher" meaning, aiming higher. This wine is made with 100% Nebbiolo red wine grapes with vines in calcareous soils, 300 metres above sea level in the Piedmont wine region. The wine was aged in oak for 24 months and 12 months in bottle prior to its release. On the palate, the wine is structured, balanced with tart cherry, ripe red berries and dried herbs. Very nice; very quaffable. Drink now or cellar for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
