Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Summerhill takes the typical varietal of the Kremstal/Kamptal/Wachau area and makes something truly delicious. There is a lot of varietal character, here. White pepper and a touch of herbaceousness. Loads of ripe apple and stone fruit.
The flavours are satisfying and quite rich. Medoum bodied and broad. Juicy apple and pear, more pepper and green herbs. If new world Gruner were a thing, this would be patient zero. Hyped up primary character. It is very appealing. Different from Austrian Gruner, which is often quite austere and taught.
It went particularly well with smoked duck amd a light salad, but this wine would go great with wurst or schnitzel.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas of green herbs, white floral, white pepper, lemon pith, and lots of stony minerality. Medium bodied and more rounded than I anticipated, with some soft citrus, some fresh green herbs and a slightly peppery finish. I think this would balance a dish with a lot of salt nicely, maybe a good pick for an Easter (or any holiday) ham.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

The natural notes are apparent in Summerhill Gruner Veltliner with a vibrant bouquet revealing fascinating light apple, white flowers, grapefruit and full on rocky stony minerals. Flavours echo much of this with vegetal notes of celery seed, and green peppers. Acidity is high with chive flowers and spicy clover touches repeating. Pair with herbed tofu and lentil salad. 86 points - tasted September 2018
