Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Made from unusual grapes the majority of which is DNA-wise the same as the Mission grape that came with early new-world settlers. Looks like a Pinot Noir in the glass. Has way more earth and leather aromas (reminiscent of Mourvedre) in an medium bodied style. These aromas replay along with a nice evolved red berry fruit again in a medium style. Want to try something new? This is is.... Great value vs. price.
Pam Hatton rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Unusual and intriguing wine with res cherry, cranberry upfront with a pepper and a bit of pine. The palate is lift. O’Dowd with soft tannins, red fruit and that raw Szechuan pepper. A wine that makes you think about it.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is an unfiltered gem from Suertes del Marques, showing the incredible reds the Canary Islands can produce if someone puts their minds and efforts into it. Lovely aromas of cherry, pink peppercorn, dried herbs, dried beetroot, and a touch of fresh mushroom. It's dynamic, mouthwatering and tactile. Decant 1 hour before serving. 91 Points.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Two grape varietals that I've never heard before but wow, this wine is good. it has a very interesting smoky nose. The wine is light but juicy and full of red fruit flavors and a nice gentle finish. Good with light refreshments
Jennifer Carter rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A cool and interesting note, this wine is made from 100 year old ungrateful vines in the Canary Islands. A blend on 90% Listan negro and 10% tintilla. Subtle French oak influence. Light style red. Cloudy. Red fruits, cherry and cranberry, pepper, leather and dried herbs. Medium acid and medium tannin.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An intriguing wine from the Canary Islands made from native local varieties - primarily Listan Negro, with a small portion of Tintilla. (Google these :) ) A hazy pale ruby colour with vibrant foxy aromas of smoke, tobacco, cherry skin and strawberry leaves. Flavours show sour cherry, earthy tree bark, raspberry leaves and smoky spices. A hint of spice at the back. Medium bodied with lingering silky tannins. This would be a handsome accompaniment to grilled portobellos with Swiss chard, keeping with the earthy tones. 90 points - tasted November 2018
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Tons of white pepper, cherry, raspberry, and a little more white pepper. Pair with roast duck, quail, or dark-meat chicken.
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Nose: fresh cracked black pepper, red licorice, anise, strawberry-cherry
Palate: earthy cherry, more peppery spice, fresh acidity, light but firm tannins, light to medium body
Pair with: charcuterie boards with peppery cured meats, tomato based pasta dishes
