A crisp, fresh yet savoury Fume Blanc made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes. You'd never guess the alcohol is on the high side at 14.5% -- it's so refreshing. Winemaker Marc Bradshaw has produced a lovely white wine with a satisfying finish. Pair with game birds and grilled chicken.

Fume Blanc Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: linguini with olive oil and fresh basil, oysters, mussels au jus, grilled white fish and dishes with blue cheese.

Lovely, smooth, and refreshing. Aromas of peach, pear, slight green herbs, vanilla and a hint of oak. Luscious on the palate, medium acidity, and a touch of heat on the finish due to the 14.5 ABV. Enjoy with creamy spring pasta with fresh green veggies and a parmesan cream sauce.

Located only minutes from the heart of Niagara-on-the Lake, Strewn winery has been committed to producing “quality first” Ontario wine for almost 8 decades. Their 2016 Fumé Blanc is comprised of Sauvignon Blanc grapes that have spent 8 months sitting on lees in oak barrels. On the nose aromas of grass, green pepper, fresh herbs, lemon, pear and fresh grass greet you. On the palate the wine is dry and fresh with flavours of lemon, lime, pear, grass, fresh herb, white pepper, mandarin orange and vanilla. The alcohol lever is 14.5% however it is very well integrated and well-balanced making for a smooth and easy drinking wine. An Ontario Sauvignon Blanc with a nod to France, this would pair well with breaded filet of sole and asparagus salad.
More along the lines of a Pouilly Fume than a California Fume Blanc. Produced from fruit harvested 28th September, 2016 from a Niagara vineyard at 21.5oBx. Following pressing, the juice was racked to oak barrels for fermentation and subsequent maturation with occasional battonage over 8 months. Following blending, the wine was sterile filtered before bottling.
