Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Otherwise known as Zinfandel - DNA analysis done in the early 2000’s showed that Croatia is considered to be the native birthplace of this grape variety. Tribidrag is making a comeback after almost going extinct. Stina’s Tribidrag 2016 was a wine showing that it is also doing extremely well!
Medium ruby coloured with a vibrant bouquet featuring plummy stewed strawberries, light supple minerals, tobacco and paprika spices. Medium plus acidity and body with a full long, finish and chewy high tannins. Complemented a roasted rack of lamb that was charred adding complexity to the wine and the food. 91 points
Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

It is not often that I get to taste Croatian wines - they are only slowly starting to arrive in the North American wine market. But does Stina Tribidrag ever show what a Croatian wine can contribute to the global market! Although you may not have heard about the Tribidrag grape variety directly, you may have tried the more popular Zinfandel which is the same grape. This Tribidrag has an interesting balance between being bold and full bodied, to having smoothness in its texture and a pleasant, fruity roundness on the palate. The tannins show well, promising good potential for aging, and the dark wild blueberries and blackberries have a nice acidity integrated into it. This leaves room for a variety of food pairings such as beef bourguignon, shepherd’s pie, and long braised lamb shank.
