Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dolcetto, the "little sweet one", produces wines of intense colour, and this one, a striking shade of dark red to purple, is no exception. Sweet jammy dark fruit, violet, black pepper, cocoa, anise, and savoury smoke aromas. Lovely palate, plenty of dark fruits with good acidity, firm tannins, and an easy-drinking nature. Best with food, serve alongside pizza, sausages, or BBQ ribs.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dolcetto is the work horse of the Piedmont region. It ripens early and typically has deep colour and aggressive tannins with low acid. It is meant to hit the market early while the Barolo and Barbaresco are aging. This one is no exception. A deep black cherry colour in the glass. There are lifted notes of lilac and violets on the nose. The palate displays fruity blackberry and lots of tannins. Best enjoyed with food. Try it with osso bucco, lamb ragu or spicy sausage. Tasted May 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Stefano Farina 2017 Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba from the Piedmont wine region and great value under $20. Dolcetto, or "little sweet one," is a great introduction to Piedmont as it is a wine with an easy-going and early drinking nature. Look for bright dark fruit, dark cherry and anise fruit flavours on this example. Enjoy it now. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
