The 2017 vintage of the Vision Series is a seductive and medium-bodied Chardonnay from Sperling Vineyards in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. On the palate there is hazelnut, yellow apple, freshly baked bread, nutty and baking spice. The wine grapes were hand-harvested, cluster sorted, then gently whole-cluster pressed and the wine juice fermented in large oak barrels. Pair with roast chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: butternut ravioli served with Alfredo sauce, roast duck, crab cakes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lovely balance, flavour, and intensity. Everything works so well together in this wine. Aromas of golden apple, pear, with a hint of warm spice, fresh bread, and vanilla. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate with medium acidty. Fruit flavours are luscious, ripe, and spicy, like an apple pie just before it goes in the oven. Enjoy with any chicken or turkey dish, or creamy pasta.
Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Sperling Vineyards Vision Series Chardonnay 2017 B.C. V.Q.A. is produced from 100% estate-grown organic grapes from younger vines. Grapes are hand-harvested, cluster-sorted and gently whole-cluster pressed. Fermented in 500 Litre French oak puncheons with malolactic fermentation. Select barrels are blended and bottled after 10-12 months of aging on lees and with some batonage.

Fragrant with honeysuckle, mineral and soft citrus aromas on the nose. Dry, medium-bodied, elegant and creamy on the palate with ripe yellow apple, vanilla pudding, soft orange flavours and a mineral backbone from beginning to end. Beautifully balanced, vibrant and mouth filling with a juicy, lengthy finish. Another Beautiful Chardonnay from Sperling Vineyards!
