The full-bodied, smooth 2015 Big Ideas “Classical” Cabernet Franc offers aromas of white melon and lime. Pair with grilled meats, but not baby goats. Small Talk Vineyards was established by the Hunse family in 1989 as Stonechurch Vineyards and has been family-owned ever since. In 2012, the name was changed to Small Talk Vineyards. They’ve also launched Shiny Apple Cider, an Ontario Craft Cider. The winery offers lots of events, including Baby Goat Yoga run by a local instructor, but mostly by the baby goats who like to climb on to you because they are super social animals and very good climbers.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: roast pork, hamburgers, old cheese, beef tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely and fresh expression of Cabernet Franc from Niagara on the Lake. Aromas of raspberry, blackberry, and red cherry, with fresh cracked pepper and a hint of dried herbs. Medium bodied and smooth on the palate, berry notes are ripe and bright, acidity is medium, and the finish is medium+ and clear. Enjoy with sausages or ribs on the BBQ.
Winery Notes - Notes of smoke, herbaceousness, leather and cigar box on the nose. Great balance in structure with popping acidity and a spiciness that features black pepper on the grippingly tannic finish.
