Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Juicy ripe red Australian Grenache / Shiraz blend. Supple, with a chewy mouthfeel, balanced, medium acidity, medium bodied, medium plus alcohol. Ripe red berry, tart red currant. Structured with medium plus chewy tannins. Yummy and good value. Accessibly priced. Tasted 2017 vintage in May 2019. 90 points
Fleshy ripe and sweet blackberry and menthol on the nose and palate of this gorgeous, plump Australian red wine that's a blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Shiraz and 5% Mataro grapes. Supple, smooth and full-bodied. Pai with roast beef, of course. MINE: Sister's Run Cow's Corner (2016) is a rich red blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Shiraz and 5% Mataro (Mourvèdre). This robust and dry GSM from the Barossa wine region is smoky cherries, blackberries and so luxurious on the palate. The "cow' corner" is an area of a cricket field with respect to the batsman in cricket and is always deep in the field on the batsman's leg side where the 'cow shots' are intended to go. Cow shots are wild and risky cricket shots considered to be mostly played by novice players without the knowledge of the difficult techniques of the game. OTHER: Wineboy rated this wine as 79/100 with the following review: Hmmm.... for the adventurous wine drinker. Loads of earthy leather and raisin aromas and flavours. Not for a crowd but with Lamb (and an open mind) - yum. OTHER: The Decanter World Wine Awards 2018 awarded this wine 88 points: "80% Grenache, 15% Shiraz, 5% Mataro. Medicinal clove, star anise and spicy strawberry aromas. Sweet red fruit, ginger tea, cinnamon, oak notes." OTHER: [The San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge did not include a tasting note.] Score - 90 (San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge, 2018). - Community Wine Reviews
