Winemakers Susan Lueker and Megan Schofield have crafted a supple, smooth, rich Merlot for the 2014 vintage. This is a red wine blend of 87% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc. The wine was fermented in 100% stainless steel then aged in 1005 oak for 14 months in a combination of small French and American oak barrels, 20% of which was new. This wine delivers pleasing aromas of blackberry, plum, clove, cedar forest and spice. Great balance of acidity and luscious fruit flavour for dishes like grilled pork chops and lamb.

Plums and spice aroma with astringency. This wine is extra dry and delivers good red fruit flavours that finish on a juicy long acidity. Score 88. (S.Segard, reviewed March 26, 2017).
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby red. 13.5% ABV. Will be available in LCBO vintages April 2017. Tart dark cherry, ripening plum, black tea. Highly tannic, medium fruit, medium acidity. Pair with blackened fish or jerk chicken. Tasted March 2017. 88 points.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A plush ripe fruit-forward merlot. The palate is completely overtaken by a grippy young tannic mouthfeel. Lasting flavours include ripe red berry fruit, chewy cedar and spice notes. A must try for the folks who love grippy chewy bold reds. Do decant for a minimum two hours prior to serving. Enjoy with a rare juicy grilled beef tenderloin. Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Well, Miles (Sideways) would surely have a fit about this one! Smooth, easy-drinking, plummy-berry-spice-and-leather Merlot-lovers Merlot with a bit of a tannic smack. Enjoy with braised beef, ribs, chops, chicken.
Bill Wright Sommelier reviewed this wine as follows:

Smooth, full merlot. Lots of dark fruit. Medium finish of fruit and spice
