Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This super value priced gem from Central Coast California is sure to put a smile on your face. Another high quality and unique product from the Rutherford Ranch family of wines, the Silver Buckle is a serious crowd-pleaser that will complement any dish you choose to enjoy it with. Soft, refined, and so smooth, this is a very well balanced wine. Gold medal winner and Best of Class at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition it was also a favourite at the California Wine Fair in Ottawa earlier this year. Everyone was raving about how terrific this wine was and of course asking when it would be available for sale. Now's the time! This is a wine to buy by the case and enjoy over the next few years. Tasted April 2015. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2013 vintage Silver Buckle Cellars Ranchero, central Coast California blend of Syrah, Merlot and Zinfandel varietals. Mocha, vanilla, blackberry, an abundance of red field berries, clove, hint of cinnamon, roasted beet, sweet leather. Full bodied, medium plus tannins, well balanced, soft supple crowd pleaser. This wine is a perfect pairing for vegan roasted beetroot salad, BBQ or braised ribs or a patio with a great friend. Enjoy now.
This Californian red wine blend leads with Shiraz grapes. The wine won a Gold Medal and won Best of Class at the 2014 Los Angeles International Wine Competition. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
