Reviews and Ratings

Perry rated this wine as 92/100
Trent Mayers rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

An Australian Shiraz that will surprise you. From the cooler climate Adelaide Hills region, this is a leaner version that is reminiscent of a Northern Rhone Syrah from France. It’s a deeply coloured, dry, and intensely fruited blend of dark plum, berry jam, black and white pepper, smoked meat, and forest floor. This is an excellent take on Shiraz (Syrah) that begs for a rack of lamb dinner or hearty stew.
4+ stars out of 5
Sidewood 2018 Shiraz is fragrant with dark cherry, raspberry, dark berry and toasty oak spice flavours on the palate. Amazing value at $22. A portion of the Shiraz grapes for this vintage were whole bunch and whole berry fermented. The wine matured in French oak barrels (25% new) for 18 months. A good cellaring candidate for 10-plus years. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
