Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A refined wine, the Schug Cabernet Franc 2017 offers a delicious bouquet of black raspberry, black cherry, jalapeno and sweet tobacco. Medium body, fine tannins, long acidity, and a great structure, showing delicious winemaking. Flavors of tart plum, sour cherry, green bean and cocoa. Enjoy.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

How exciting to see Cabernet Franc bottled from California! Often grown as a blending agent and to compliment Cabernet Sauvignon, Schug only bottles a varietal Cabernet Franc in years when the yields are plentiful enough to allow. This wine is grown in the most southern part of Sonoma Valley, near the influence of the San Pablo Bay. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, and red pepper notes. Lovely acidity and balance. Enjoy with grilled pork tenderloin.
