Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is some pretty epic stuff from Schola Sarmenti, featuring incredible balanced aromas and flavours of black briar, cherry prune, dried herbs, meat blood, crushed rocks and dried sumac. This wine pops your senses and has you reaching for the bottle until its gone. 92 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted March 7th 2017. Ruby red. Love the aromas, black cherry, vegetables, wet pencil, figs, dates, spicy notes, complex. The taste dried cherry and more complex rich flavours. Really liking this wine with my steak and mushroom, baked potato and roasted heirloom carrots. A great wine to take to a friends house.
This wine was listed #93 on the 2015 wine spectator top 100. Recommend a visit to the web site www.scholasarmenti.it

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
