Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Sacred Hill Reserve Chardonnay Hawke’s Bay 2018, reveals flavors of yellow apple, banana, mango, saline, crème fraiche, butter and oak. The wine’s aromas and flavors are amazing, and from the first sip the wine shows perfect harmony. Tasted at New-Zealand Wine Pure Discovery, May 2019.
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I love a smooth buttery Chardonnay so this suits one me just fine. This one, made with estate grown grapes from Hawke’s Bay, was aged in 50% oak, 25% new barrels. Aromas of tropical fruit are followed by flavours of peach, vanilla, and caramel with light oak and that rich creamy mouth feel. Great paired with lobster or prawns. Tasted May 9, 2019 at New Zealand Pure Discovery event.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium bodied, this minerally chardonnay from the Hawke’s Bay region of New Zealand shows beautiful aromas and flavours of white flowers and white tree fruit. Look for baking spices and butterscotch too. All of this is accompanied by a delicious finish.
Paula Bernardino rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I attended the Pure Discovery 2019 event featuring wines from New Zealand. At the Ottawa event May 9, 2019 I focused on New Zealand’s whites, which included mainly Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

I tried the Reserve Chardonnay from Sacred Hill Vineyards with aromas of toasted hazelnuts and lemon, which are also part of the flavours, in addition to vanilla. Nice label. 13% alcohol.
