Pretty, soft with field strawberry notes. Light-bodied and fresh without a lot of acidity. Lovely as a chilled aperitif or pair with seafood.

Reviews and Ratings

Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

An Italian gem from Ruffino, that is light salmon-coloured offering aromas of raspberries, strawberries and lemon. This is a straightforward rosé with low to medium acidity and subdued field berry flavours and a short finish.

I would serve this with shrimp appetizers.

The grapes for this wine are grown in vineyards best known for rosé wine production. Rosatello is produced with red grapes which undergo a cold maceration on the skins in order to exalt the primary aromas and develop the characteristic pink nuance.

The grapes are then pressed softly and fermented in stainless-steel barrels at a temperature of 14°C to complete the vinification. The wine remains in the tanks, controlled at a low temperature, until it is bottled.

The colour is a vibrant pink. The aromas are intense, fruity and inviting with fragrant notes of summer fruit, such as strawberry and peaches.

Tasting profile: Middle structure, with a fragrant and very fresh flavour. Delicate and long-lasting finish with scents of fruit and herbs. Ideal as an aperitif. This wine was first produced in 2012.
