Dried herbs, cedar brush and tart, wild black cherry on this nose of this robust Italian red wine. Ruffino's Chianti Classico Riserva is a dependable bottle year after year. It's aged for 24 months in oak, and oak does not dominate at all. Rather it provides a lovely wisp of smoke on the finish. Pair with a rack of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Courtney Flood rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Clear brick red with a watery edge. Heady aromas of eucalyptus, cedar, and basil uplifts the senses, ending with some cherry and raspberry. Very smooth and bright. Great to pair with a tomato chalked chicken.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Black cherry, tobacco, vanilla, and black berry aromas, lots of rounded tannins and flavours of blackberry and tart cherry. The finish is lighter with blackberry and raspberry and lasts very well.
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Intense, velvety and crispy. Sensations of fragrant fresh fruit are accompanied by steady yet gentle tannins, that exalt enjoyable spicy hints. The whole tasting sensation is enriched by a persistent finish, that is incredibly fresh and pleasantly mineral and presents an aftertaste with fascinating notes of rosemary.

Intense, velouté et vif. Les sensations de fruits frais aromatiques sont accompagnées de tannins constants et doux qui présentent un arricre-gout avec des notes fascinantes de romarin.
