A tasty and mouth-watering Italian red wine with racy acidity for tangy tomato sauce. Full-bodied and fairly smooth. Great value. Decant 1 hour.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A subdued and elegant Classico style Chianti, with the cherry flavours very ripe, along with milk chocolate, a little earth, cedar and nuts. Finely balanced tannins and excellent acidity, ready for food, especially tomato-based pasta dishes.
Tasted Oct. 2016
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A medium ruby wine with aromas of spicy cherry and cigar box. The taste is lush tart cherry with high acidity and just a touch of tannin. I perfect wine for tomato based dishes.
Carola Price rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Clear and deep red. A nose of coffee grounds, earth and macerated cherries. In the mouth it is tart and slightly hot. Flavours of cherries, vanilla, tobacco leaf and red currant. Medium bodied and screaming for fully loaded veggie pizza, mediterranean dishes (think Baba Ghanouj and lamb) or simple spaghetti bolognese.
Drink now with a decant or very big glass but you can also cellar for up to 4 years.
