Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a big juicy mouthful of Tempranillo! Dark purple and aromatic, with ripe blackberries, cherries, leather, vanilla and a hint of violets. Then a luscious palate unfolds layers of ripe dark berries, vanilla, licorice, herbs, leather and oak. Medium to full-bodied, and so fruity, with bits of sediment that you almost expect to find a grape in the bottom of your glass. Long ripe fruity finish. Try this with a hearty lamb stew and crusty bread.
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

Alex: Earthy and floral, with licorice, old boots, potpourri and vanilla. Mature, with the fruit way in the back of the bus. Dried plum, scorched earth and leather-wrapped palate, with fully resolved tannin, some heat and dryness on the finish. Good and interesting, and fairly priced. 85 pts

Priya: I guess this is good value for the price, but there's nothing to distinguish it for me. I'd still take a Ripasso over this but I've tasted much worse. 78 pts

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
