A dark and smoky Californian Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley, Sonoma. Smoky on the nose with bright black currant and blackberry aromas. Dry, full-bodied with dark cherry, plum, cassis, dried tobacco leaf and leathery, smoky notes on the palate. Nicely balanced with good acidity for a grilled steak. Tannins are chewy but manageable. Enjoy now and for the next five years.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled steak, pork roast, grilled lamb chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fantastic value for a delicious Cab that has great varietal character and regional typicity. Beautifully balanced flavours of chocolate enrobed cherries, a saline minerality with a slight smoke on the finish. Elegantly poised to drink now of hold onto it for a few years. Try with sticky smoky porks ribs @wrightwineblog
Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied California Cab with brambly, black currant, mocha, bell pepper and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Good structure with fine, slightly chewy tannins. Pair with a grilled ribeye from the BBQ. - Community Wine Reviews
