Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a brawny Classico with a glass full of red berries, vanilla, leather, cellar, cedar, and dried grape aromas and flavours. A very drying mouthfeel with medium+ acidity. The finish is warm spices and lingering. Decant at least 2 hours for maximum enjoyment. There's some cellar time left in this bottle. Pair with BBQ hamburgers, grilled med/rare steak or spaghetti with thick meat sauce.
Tasted: March 2015
This robust Italian red wine features aromas of dried herbs, cigar box, sage and thyme. The 2010 vintage of the Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio a'Frati is complex and concentrated. - Community Wine Reviews
