A full-bodied white wine that's rich and buttery with some smoke on the nose from generous oak aging. Supple, layered and tasty. Great price. Try with seafood pasta in a cream sauce or roast chicken or turkey.

Chardonnay food pairings: pan fired scallops, spinach and pepper jack stuffed chicken, beef bourguignon, pork tenderloin, toasted ravioli served with Alfredo sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Robert Oatley's Signature Series Chardonnay from one of the finest wine regions in the world, and certainly one of Australia's most famous, Margaret River, is a great example of the expressive and refined wines this region is so well known for. From the ideal 2014 vintage, Robert Oatley sourced some of the best Chardonnay grapes from this iconic region to craft a nuanced and complex lightly oaked Chardonnay that is sure to be loved by many. Medium bodied, with elegance and structure in spades, the tropical and citrus fruit, vanilla, spice, and refreshing herbal undertones fill the nose. Creamy, smooth, and incredibly refreshing, the palate is filled with apple, ripe lime, pear and spice on the long finish. At under $20 ($CDN) this offers incredible value and will be a great complement to seared scallops with lemony risotto and truffle oil. Look for it in Vintages starting May 28 2016. Tasted April 2016. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Chardonnays from the Margaret River in Western Australia are some of my favourite expressions in the word. This wine shows attractive notes of grapefruit, underripe mango, pineapple and a touch of spice. This wine is medium bodied, shows very good fruit concentration, lively acidity and a crisp citrus finish. Enjoy with Baja fish tacos. Tasted May 2016. @sommsosa @bespoketastings
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

This Margaret River Chardonnay has quite a herbal component to it for this region of Western Australia. Some familiar aromas and flavours from the light oak aging are still detectable such as butter popcorn, toffee, toast with some vanilla. Tropical fruit on the finish. Medium- bodied with some crisp acidity. Not a typical expression of Chardonnay.

The 2014 vintage of the full-bodied Australian white wine, Robert Oatley Signature Series Chardonnay, offers enticing notes of apple and peach. The grapes are grown in the cool Margaret River region. No malolactic fermentation. Winemaker is Larry Cherubino. Matured for a short time in a variety of French oak barriques, twenty per cent new. A bright, mid-weight, white peach-accented, gently oaked wine grown on selected sites across Australia's highest performing Chardonnay region. - Community Wine Reviews
