Very smooth and approachable now though it will also do well in the cellar. Full-bodied and smooth with luscious fleshy ripe blackberries and plums. Big black fruit and oak. Chary, toasty, smoky. Pair with filet mignon.

Zinfandel food pairings: meatloaf, lentil patties, Italian style pizza, salami, veal shanks, charcuterie, soft cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

The 2013 vintage had an early spring and warm summer that assured full ripeness of the grapes. One of the winery's most expressive wines in years. The petit sirah adds colour and structure. Aging in American oak barrels softens the tannins. The 2013 vintage of the Lytton Springs is an opulent blend of 74% Zinfandel, 16% Petite Sirah, 8% Carignane, 2% Mataro (aka Mourvèdre). - Community Wine Reviews
