Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

An iconic wine that deserves all the praise. Incredibly concentrated. How did they pack so much fruit into that little bottle? Seriously! Harvested at 1.34 tons/acre, they are very selective of the fruit that makes the cut for this iconic wine. Rich and layered sweet fruit with incredible acidity and fine tannins make this a wine built to cellar for decades. Drink 2015-2045. Tasted August 2015. 95 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Age worthy over the next 20-50 years. That alone makes this worth the price for all the collectors out there. Harvested in a record 16 days with only the very best grapes making the cut. The result is a deep opaque ruby liquid and an intense nose of black fruit, cherry syrup, over-ripe plum, espresso. The palate is full-bodied with great acidity and polishing tannins. A long fruit driven finish. This is a big but elegant red blend. Pair with finer cuts of red meat. Perfect gift wine.
Tasted: August 2015
This is the half bottle size of this wine. the full size of 750 ml is also in this release. The 2012 vintage of the Californian red wine Monte Bello from Ridge has firm tannins and great structure. It's a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
