Natalie's Score: 92/100

A medium-plus-bodied red blend of 68% Zinfandel, 18% Carignane, 12% Petite Sirah and 2% Alicante Bouschet. Aromas of blue florals, ripe red cherries and sweet cake spice with layered blackberry, dark plum, mocha and oak spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm. Good now, better with a couple of years in cellar to marry, mellow and integrate tannins.

Food pairings: barbecued meats, venison steak, bison burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California Ridge Geyserville 2017 is a full-bodied red blend of 68% Zinfandel, 18% Carignane, 12% Petite Sirah and 2% Alicante Bouschet, aged 14 months in American oak barrels. Rich and intense with dark cherry, black currant, cedar spice, wild herbs and smoky, earthy flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and well-integrated. Nice now, better in a couple of year to begin to show its full potential. - Community Wine Reviews
