Natalie's Score: 88/100

A robust, rustic Chianti made from the classic Sangiovese grape. Aromas of rust, earth, tart cherry. Pair with grilled meats. Full-bodied, dry Chianti with aromas smoke, earth and dark fruit. Savoury, meaty and imminently satisfying. I'm thinking of this with pizza, lasagna or other pasta dishes with a spicy meat sauce. Yes please!

Chianti food pairings: pasta in a tomato sauce, roast beef, grilled game sausage.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A lovely, rustic Chianti with lovely dark red fruit and well integrated oak. The palate is lush with lingering blackberry and cherry, a hint of cinnamon and a touch of mocha on the finish. Tasted December 2017.
From the Tuscany wine region, Renzo Masi Chianti Riserva (2013)is great value under $20 for a full-bodied premium, meaty and savoury Chianti. Look for flavours of smoke (from oak ageing) on this dry but fruity red wine made for pasta and a rich tomato sauce. The blend is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
