A lovely off-dry German Riesling with aromas of fresh peach and apricot. Racy acidity for seafood. Light-bodied and pretty. As they say, relax!

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Beautiful light Riesling from Mosel in Germany made by Schmitt Söhne. Relax is the name of this lovely light wine and expose aromas of pink grapefruit, cantaloupe, citrus zest, honeysuckle, ginger and beeswax. Light and sweet, this Riesling offer quality to pair food with or to drink on its own. The finish quite long with flavors of green apple, citrus zest, grapefruit, saline, honey and ginger. Enjoy!
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A bright, summery Riesling from the Mosel region. Aromas of freshly cut apple skins, blossoms and lime zest without any overwhelming elements of “petrol”. Flavours unveil mouthwatering grapefruit, zesty green apples, freshly squeezed lime juice wrapped in zingy acidity. Technically, this holds medium sweetness, with 40g/L of residual sugar, but the acidity balances it nicely with a medium body and light-and-quickly gone finish. I was pleasantly surprised! This could pair with a variety of foods such as honey garlic wings, or mandarin spinach salad with lemon herb dressing. - tasted May 2021
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fruit forward and off-dry. A nice example of Mosel Valley Riesling. Aromatic and flavourful with notes of apples, apricot and hint of citrus. And at an excellent price point! This wine would hold up nicely with Asian cuisine.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Schmitt Söhne family winery in Mosel, Germany has gone from a small local winery to a fairly large exporter. Their "policy has remained the same for over 200 years: to create the best wines possible using only top-quality grapes. Today we offer the whole world a taste of great wines at affordable prices." This is a great example of a value priced wine and exactly what they are well known for.

One of the things I like most about this wine is the low alcohol level of 9.5% Perfect for a light afternoon aperitif while entertaining. Like many Riesling from Germany this is an off-dry wine, 38-40 g/l of sugar - but there is enough acidity to counter-balance. Aromas and flavours of white stone fruit and citrus with a touch of minerality. Relax! and enjoy! Tasted June 2021
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A lively Riesling perfect with a variety of foods, sure to please many wine tastes.
Aromas of peach, orange and white flowers fill the glass, transforming into a zippy red grapefruit finish.
Would be lovely with spicy curry dishes or as a back deck sipper.
Tasted May 2021.

Uncork this refreshing creation from Germany’s Mosel wine region in the shade on a sweltering day. Attractive fresh aromas like nectarine and tangerine emerged from my glass. A round mouthfeel and pleasing acidity added lift to this off dry riesling’s easy to enjoy stone fruit flavours. Would match nicely with mussels and oysters.

Great value Riesling, with aromas of white peach, grapefruit and lime. Off-dry, with balancing acidity, ripe and rounded citrus notes, and a hint of spice on the finish. Enjoy with mildly spiced dishes.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Very Pale straw in colour with aromas of apple, peach, white floral and a hint of lime. It is off-dry, light bodied and is crisp, clean and refreshing. On the palate you get crisp green apples, peach, white grape fruit with a hint of honey sweetness. A great value wine, you can enjoy this on its own, pair with a green leafy salad or Asian dishes. Tasted on June 10, 2021.
Paula Bernardino rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

This was my weekend wine pick: a fantastic Riesling from Germany. Typical yellow colour with flavours and aromas of apples and peach with a soft hint of citrus. Paired well with sushi but could easily be enjoyed by itself during Happy Hour. 9% alcohol. Nice cool bottle. Available at the SAQ (Code SAQ: 11254065) at $13. Also available at the LCBO (LCBO#: 6218880) at $12.90.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Relax and sip some Riesling!

This Senators fan is ignoring that the glass bottle is Maple Leaf blue!

Light, crisp and easily sipped on it's own. Waves of white blossoms, lychee, peach, apricot, wet stones, sweet baking spices. Off-dry with a good wash of acidity. A lingering juicy peach and apple finish. Slight effervescence doubles the fun!
Great value $12.80 and 9% abv.
Perfect patio sipper.

Tasted: Game 7 Leafs v Habs May 2021

A nice and simple off-dry Riesling. Great with a fruit plate on a nice sunny deck!
