A vibrant fresh Ontario red wine that is Niagara's take on beaujolais nouveau. It's made from gamay grapes that were only recently still hanging on the vine. It's bottled quickly to preserve the fruit freshness, just like nouveau. Aromas of fleshy sweet cherry-berry. Medium-bodied, smooth, juicy and mouth-watering. Pair with grilled chicken or pork.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Alongside Reif's Kerner (The Hanging Man), this wine is styled after the widely popular Beaujolais Nouveau. It is made from the controversial Gamay Noir grape that thrives in Niagara.
The aromas smell like super ripe strawberry and cherry. Absolutely ripe and compelling.
This wine explodes with cherry jam, cassis, vanilla, and fresh plums. The colour is almost glass coating. Lots of acidity keep it fresh. There is a decent amount of residual sugar that gives precision to the fruit character, but does somewhat clash with traditional Gamay pairings. A slight chill helps this, though.
On the third Thursday of November, you will find a plethora of Nouveau wines ready to be enjoyed from the most recent harvest. These wines tend to be macerated carbonically, which preserves ripeness and gives loads of colour to a wine (lip staining!), but with very little tannin.
