Crisp and fresh Niagara Chardonnay that doesn't touch a trace of oak barrel, thus "steel" as it was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fruit freshness. Classic cool climate aromas of granny smith apple and Asian pear. Match with roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Golden straw colour in the glass, with lime and apricot aromas, with nectarine flavours. The 2015 vintage was a cooler grape growing year, bringing forward a wonderful food-friendly acidity, and the steel tank fermentation allows the fruit flavours to come forward.
Perfect with white fish and seafood dishes.
Tasted May 2017.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The "Steel" on the label is a giveaway that this is an unoaked chardonnay. Add in a cool growing season and you have a fresh crisp wine with good acidity. Aromas of pear, citrus and green apple with predominant pear flavours. Pair with simple grilled chicken or oysters Rockefeller. Or even better - visit the Reif website for their recipe recommendation
