Dark spice and smoke on this nose of this Niagara red wine blend. It's full-bodied and supple. Pair with a rare steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Very nice effort from Reif Estate Winery, their Merlot Reserve is a great balance of fruit and savoury components. Dark fruit, plum, leather, tobacco leaf, tomato leaf, on the nose and palate. This would complement BBQ steak, savoury dishes, or enjoy with aged cheese. Cellar for 2-5 years or enjoy now. Tasted June 2015. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Very nice Ontario Merlot from Reif Estate Winery. A nice component of fleshy fruit, vanilla, smoke, tobacco, chocolate and baking spices. The tannins are polished and there's a bright amount of acidity to support the ripe dark fruit. Hold this one for 3-5 years and it will reward you. Enjoy today with Charcuterie; umami or savoury dishes; blackened chicken; jambalaya. This is a food friendly wine so experiment with pairings.

A solid Ontario red wine for the barbecue and grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews
