An extraordinary Châteauneuf from the 2012 vintage, with pronounced aromas of black fruit, smoke, violets, anise and pepper. Provençal aromas of garrigue, pepper, black cherry, and anise. Long finish. Complex and beautifully structured. Pair with prime rib.

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape food pairings: prime rib roast, roast garlic chicken, veal chops in wine sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

This Châteauneuf-Du-Pape from France's Rhone wine region is a blend of 90% Grenache and other traditional CNDP varieties grown in the sandy soils of the Piallon and Girardette lieux-dits. Raymond Usseglio Cuvee Imperiale (2013) is full-bodied and rich with ripe black cherry and plum fruit, finished with earthy and spicy flavours. Tannins are supple and there is good length on this wine. Drink now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
