A lovely, refreshing Niagara-on-the-Lake rose from winemaker Lydia Tomek. The fruit is grown in the Niagara River appellation. The grapes were picked early to preserve freshness and vibrant strawberry flavour. Most of the wine was fermented in Stainless Steel tanks, again for freshness. And about 15% was fermented and aged in French oak barrels for two months. There are lovely aromas of watermelon and strawberry, with juicy acidity to pair this with field greens, ceviche and soft cheeses. Medium-bodied and vibrant. Perfect on its own too.

Cabernet Rosé food pairings: lox and capers, grilled salmon steak, shellfish, fresh fruit, veggies, pasta primavera.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely and summery! Aromas of strawberry, watermelon, red cherry and orange, Medium bodied, with bright acidity, vibrant citrus and fresh strawberry flavours on the palate. Enjoy with salmon or any fresh seafood.
Winemaker's Note - A sophisticated and understated soft pale pink hue demonstrates the construction of this wine. Aromatics and flavours of full of freshly picked strawberries, watermelon, mandarin, and cotton candy leave your mouth watering and wanting more. Initially round and soft on the palate, the wine is carried through with a refreshing amount of freshness and acidity.

Intentionally made as a balanced but dry wine, this Rosé is a perfect candidate to pair with light fare and freshly prepared food. Garden salads, poultry, cheeses, ceviche, and even fresh fruit like strawberries and watermelon make this an obvious hit when searching for sunshine.
