The 2018 Cabernet Franc is a full-bodied red with aromas of dark red berries and oak spice on the finish from aging this wine French barrels. There’s some terrific balancing acidity here that would make this a great match for charcuterie or grilled meats. I love that’s just 12.5% alcohol yet has all this flavour.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: lamb chops. old cheese, beef ragu, meat pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Delish! Aromas of raspberry, black cherry and even a hint of blackberry, along with some graphite, earthy underbrush and a hint of smoke. Medium bodied on the palate, with some young tannins that softened considerably after some time in the glass. Fruit flavours are fresh and bright - lots of ripe red berry, acidity is medium+ and provides great balance to some hints of graphite and smoke. Enjoy with marinated flank steak or beef kebabs.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Broad and complex nose bouncing around between pencil lead/pencil shavings, earthy/forest floor, green bell pepper, smoke, and fresh cherry and red fruit. On the light side of medium bodied measuring 12.5% ABV. Young chewy tannins and bright acidity call for big protein now, and also hint at some mid range cellar potential. The finish reverberates with those graphite and bell pepper notes, underlined by black cherry and plum. Ideal for cedar plank salmon or burgers.
Winemaker’s Note - This Cabernet Franc is a lovely red concentrated in red fruit flavour with a touch of soft elegance. Strawberries and cream are the first descriptors to come to mind when tasting this wine.

A nice balanced example between fruit, acidity and a touch of earthiness that make this wine a great accompaniment to charcuterie, duck, soft cheeses and dark chocolate.
