Gooseberry and guava with a lick of lemon zest on this New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Not herbal or grassy. Lots of mouth-watering acidity.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: chicken salad, pork tenderloin, seafood, barbecued lobster.

Reviews and Ratings

Ruth Blakely WSET 3, FV Sensory 2 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A beautifully fresh Sauvignon Blanc. Pale yellow colour and a hint of apricot and the nose. Not as herbaceous as some Kiwi SB, this has a hint of fresh cut grass, crisp acidity and a medium long finish. A better wine than is made in Mr Crawford's name now. Lovely pairing with fresh pea risotto.
The grapes are grown in a unique dry oasis of the usually wet Marlborough region. The grapes are harvested from four sub regions of the Marlborough's Wairau Valley. A classy SB at a very good price. - Community Wine Reviews
