Rapaura Springs Reserve 2020 Chardonnay is delicious on the nose and palate with ripe stone fruit, honeysuckle, fresh citrus, warm vanilla and toasty oak flavours. The 2020 summer was dry giving small to medium-size grapes with a lot of concentration. The cooler, late summer nights in the Marlborough retained the acidity in the grapes keeping the wine fresh; malolactic conversion added softness and texture to the wine. The wine juice was fermented in a combination of French oak barriques (20% new) and puncheons.

Chardonnay food pairings: seafood Alfredo, crab cakes and lemon aioli, salmon steaks from the grill.

Reviews and Ratings

Rapaura Springs Reserve 2020 Chardonnay is produced from sustainably-grown grapes from the Marlborough wine region, South Island, New Zealand. The cooler, late summer nights in the Marlborough help retain the acidity in the grapes keeping the wine fresh. Malo adds softness and texture to the wine. Beautifully crafted, look for ripe stone fruit, spice, vanilla and soft lemon flavours supple, vibrant and satisfying on the palate. Nicely done! - Community Wine Reviews
