Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Priya: Smells like caraway and cumin. Very fruity and rich but also a bit spicy and warm. A red for New World red wine lovers! 88pts

Alex: A dusty, cocoa-tinged, blueberry and raspberry nose with a hint of root beer. There's a sinuous, juicy texture with mouth filling blueberry fruit and a touch of pepper on the finish. Great texture, drinks like a much darker pinot noir. 90pts
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a great new find. Featuring old world aromatics of tanned leather, dried fig, with ripe black Plum. A fantastic Austrian Red from the 2012 vintage. Tasted Dec 2016. A perfect accompaniment to tuna sashimi, Gourmet AAA burgers, fig and date cheese platter, balsamic glazed
Pork tenderloin. A crowd pleaser begging to be discovered. Ready for enjoying soon. Rated 89/100.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Presentation: Simple, distinctive, clean
Appearance: Pale to medium ruby colour
Nose: Green bell pepper (garrigue perhaps?), black pepper, anise, leather, cigar
Taste: Dry, noticeable yet soft, round tannins, low to medium acidity, low to medium body, red berries (strawberries, raspberries, sour cherries), leather, dark chocolate, grilled meat, spices
Finish: Shorter finish of round, sour cherries
Overall impression: A very good wine – would have another glass of this wine. It is easy to drink, would pair with grilled foods (meat, vegetables), probably even dark chocolate dessert.
Value: 4/5
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas of cherries, dried herbs, and straw. The taste is bright, fruity cherry with grippy tannins and a light, smooth mouth-feel.
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The belief behind this award winning winery is cultivating the best locations and allocating varietals in their proper soils to obtain the best fruit possible. After all, top wines can only come from perfect grapes!
St.Laurent is a native Austrian red varietal named after St. Lawrence Day which falls on August 10th, the day when the grapes are said to begin changing colors.
The fruit for this wine comes from Niederosterreich (or lower Austria), the country’s largest quality wine-growing area.
Deep purply red in color and very aromatic on the nose with flower blossoms, ripe juicy rhubarb, marzipan and raspberry preserves.
Meaty, juicy, robust and dry on the palate with well integrated tannins. Sour cherries, plums and dried mint flavours wrap up in a “wish-it-lingered-on-longer” smoky finish.
Great intriguing alternative to the entry-level “jammy” Shiraz!
