Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A traditional style of Valpolicella from the godfather of the Veneto. The perfect food wine: light on the opening, needing some air to express itself, there are savoury meaty tones with leather, dried cherry and pot pourri. Some black fruit in the mouth as the wine finishes with a clean and fresh acidity. Balanced and full of interest right til the end. Try lamb loin with quince glaze @wrightwineblog
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied Valpolicella, medium-garnet in the glass. Earthy, plum and dark berry aromas with leather nuances. Tomato-based foods would pair well with this wine.
From the Veneto wine region, Quintarelli 2011 Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a benchmark Veneto red wine from a hot vintage (15% abv), rich and full-bodied with black cherry, blackberry, ripe plum, earthy florals and savoury spice and herb flavours on the palate. Enjoy now and for the next 10 years. Pair with a prime rib roast and all the trimmings. In 2012, founder Giuseppe Quintarelli died at the age of 84. His legacy lives on though, especially in the Quintarelli with his daughter Fiorenza, son-in-law and grandson carrying on his winemaking traditions. - Community Wine Reviews
