Reviews and Ratings

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Nov 21, 2013: Blind tasting NCSG Vintages pre-release. Deep garnet, complex nose showing fig, prune, rasin, cola, black licorice, oxo beef cubes, dark chocolate and wood spice. Full and sweet on the palate with raisin, fig, prune, chocolate dipped cherries, black licorice, black pepper and a long warm finish. Well balanced, drink now and over the next decade with blue cheese, dark chocolate or dried fruit and nuts.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Tasted blind, November 21, 2013. Deep ruby. First impression - black liquorice with sweet tawny notes. A certain savoury/salty note too (Sean described it well as OXO cubes) hidden behind the luscious sweet Port aromas. Tannins are very present and super well integrated. Creamy refreshing mouthfeel that leads to a long black liquorice finish. Leave this vintage Port in your cellar for another 10 years or enjoy now after a 2 hour decant.
