A spectacular BC merlot with enticing aromas of fleshy dark fruit and smoke. Quail's Gate is what I'd call a merlot specialist, having elevated the whole varietal for the country. Love the cedar brush finish that leaves a wispy trail right back to the bottle. Superb craftsmanship.

Merlot food pairings: Angus steak, cheddar cheese, beef quesadillas.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

I am loving the Merlot wines that are coming out of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, and this is another one that got added to the list. Love those dark fruits with the spicy notes and a subtle hint of chocolate. This food friendly wine pairs well with pork, beef or lamb. It's also pretty tasty with pizza.
The grapes for this wine are handpicked from the winery's own estate vineyards and the wine is then aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews
