Quadrus Reserva 2011 is a smooth and sensuously silky, full-bodied red from the Douro wine region produced from mostly Touriga Nacional wine grapes. From the Amaro brothers based out of Toronto, this is a nicely balanced, easy to enjoy dry red with dark plum, raspberry, figgy, mocha and smoky vanilla flavours smooth and elegant on the palate. Enjoy with veal stuffed Portobello mushrooms.

Food pairings: roast pork, lamb kebabs, meat-lover's pizza, venison tenderloin, roast duck gourmet burgers, tourtière.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely modern version of a classic Douro blend. 3 traditional Portuguese grapes blended together to create a juicy, elegant sweet fruited palate. 12 Months of French oak rounds out the fruit to create an elegant and highly drinkable wine. Try with balsamic glazed steaks @wrightwineblog
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A blend of native Portugese grapes- 55% Toriga Nacional, 40% Tinta Roriz and 5% Souzao. Plum, raspberry and raison aromas with vanilla and herbal notes. A long finish. Will pair well with lamb, and firm fish like salmon.
Quadrus 2011 Reserva is a full-bodied and smooth red wine blend of 55% Touriga Nacional, 40% Tinta Roriz and 5% Souzão. Look for ripe and sweet red berry, cherry flavours with dried wild herbs and dark spice flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food. Enjoy now with a sausage and lentil cassoulet. - Community Wine Reviews
