Reviews and Ratings

Simon Chen rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

LCBO Grandi Marchi Italian Tasting @ Toronto - Antinori's wine from Piedmont! A great blend of Barbera and Syrah
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine is a Barbera (60%) Syrah (40%) blend hailing from the rolling hills of Monferrato, a DOC in the acclaimed Reggio Piedmonte. This wine shows inviting red fruit aromas revealing delicious, tart cherry, raspberry, delicate baking spice (allspice), and dark chocolate flavours. Tannins are present but integrated with juicy balanced acidity and a long finish. The value for quality is incredible! Enjoy now after decanting for an hour and serve with herb encrusted roasted port tenderloin. Or, perhaps you may wish to purchase a few bottles and let it sit in the cellar for 8-10 more years (2022-2024) Tasted Jan 2017 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
From Italy's famed Piedmont winegrowing region, Prunotto Mompertone (2014) is a red wine blend of 60% Barbera and 40% Syrah grown 300 metres above sea level overlooking Basso Monferrato. Pair with rich pasta and richer tomato sauce. - Community Wine Reviews
