Campfire smoke, hickory smoke and toasty oak with black fruit underneath. Attractive in a smoky way. Full-bodied and smooth. More smoke on the finish.

Zinfandel food pairings: pepper steaks, smoked meat sammies.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

I love an Old Vine Zinfandel, and after having this recently reminded me of why I love it so much. Big rich mouth feel with this wine, lots of jammy fruits, and rich chocolate. Velvety and spicy this wine is extremely food friendly. I have had it with both grilled chicken and grilled pork.
Wow, a great nose. Rich and spicy with ripe dark cherry, blackberry jam, baking spices, campfire smoke and a chocolate note that builds with time and air. Powerful and intensely flavourful, but also soft with a ripe mouthfeel. Just gorgeous. The finish is a layered delight of spice, earth and cocoa. Drink up to 2016 with such delectable prey as pepper steaks. Source: Vintages Wine Ratings and Reviews, Dec. 2013
