Vintages Wine Panel: The 2006 Prado Rey Crianza is a blend of 92% Tempranillo with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that spent 12 months in barrel followed by 3 months in oak vats. Opaque purple in color, it proffers an inviting nose of incense, violets, cedar, black cherry, and blueberry. My note: Intensely dry and tannic, decant 2 hours and drink with meat. Rustic and ready for you.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2006 Prado Rey Crianza, aged in American oak for 12 months followed by 3 more in French oak, is medium bodied, fruity to INTEGRATED, with nice aromas of black cherry, prune, coconut and vanilla. The structure is a bit disconnected, with refined tannins (decant for 30 min); the finish is long. Drink 2014/15-2020. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts - watch out for some sediment. Tasted Feb/12.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Black fruit, scorched marshmallow root, dried blueberry, fresh tobacco, and a hint of crushed flowers. 89 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
