Vintages Wine Panel: Morellino is the local name for Sangiovese and this one is brimming with forward aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry, mocha and dark chocolate with hints of leather. On the palate, this is full of rich red fruit flavor which carries onward to the creamy, spicy finish. Drink this in-tense red now, or age it for a year while the wine continues to develop. My note: Mouth-wateringly dry and tasty with aromas of black berries and smoke. Tangy.

Morellino food pairings: gourmet pizza topped with spicy capicolla and black olives, robust meat dishes, tangy tomato sauce.

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This medium bodied, nicely aromatic wine has notes of pine, oak, black cherry, vanilla and blueberry. The fruit is somewhere between fruity and integrated, the wine is smooth with pronounced tannins that go away after about 1 hour of decanting, and a nice long finish. This wine will benefit from aging for at least a year (to reduce the tannins) and should age nicely for at least 10 years. My impression: very NICE to BEAUTIFUL. Tasted Mar/10. I think this is a great buy for the price.
