An attractive after-dinner dessert wine: this fortified port is made in the Late Bottled Vintage style so it doesn't have to be aged, like Vintage ports do. Aromas of blackberry jam. Pair with Black Forest Cake.

Port food pairings: blue cheeses, chocolate mousse, fresh fruit.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This full-bodied garnet colored port started out with some in-your-face alcohol fumes, understandable enough since it is port! It settled into a very pleasant nose of dried fruits - fig and raisin which were mirrored on the palate. Nicely balanced long finish. Cries out for chocolate or dried fruit compote to accompany it!
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Pocas LBV 2009 is a great way to end a meal. Aromas and flavours of blackberry and cassis. Tasted January 2017 (89/100)
This is a Late Bottled Vintage Port from Portugal's Douro region -- the home of Port. - Community Wine Reviews
