Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Frappato di Vittoria is one of Sicily's most indigenous grapes. It grows in Vittoria DOC(Cerasuolo di Vittoria), an area in southeastern Sicily, very well known for its rare red sands and close proximity to the sea. It is here that only 840 hectares of Frappato are cultivated for the entire island. This grape is an absolute favorite of mine, this wine is fresh, fruit forward, light and elegant. The aromas of red fruit jump out of the glass with flavors of tart cherry, ripe raspberry, juicy pomegranate, wild orchard florals, and a perfectly balanced acidity. A perfect sip on its own wine or delightful with a veggie lasagna, rigatoni, or your next Turkey dinner. @PlanetaWinery
Planeta Frappato Vittoria (2015) is a rustic red from Sicily. Bright red in the glass, this dry red is fragrant with sour cherries, raspberries, roses and spice on the nose due to the profile of the Frappato wine grape, best cultivated in the red sands of Vittoria with the influence of moderating temperatures from the proximity of the Mediterranean sea. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
