Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Creamy, with an oily mouthfeel. Medium - plus bodied. Big aromatics and on the palate, with rosewater, lychee fruit, and a hint of ginger. Pairs well with green Thai pork curry and jasmine rice. Tasted 2016 vintage in Nov 2017. 91 points. Great value.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromatic rosewater, red apple and mild spice notes on the nose followed by white peach, apricot and a mild ground ginger note the palate. The signature lychee fruit present as well but not prominent. Enjoy this medium bodied juicy aromatic Gewürztraminer with Mulligatawny soup. Tasted Nov 2017 by @sommsosa / bespoketastings.ca
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

There's lots going on in this bottle. Apple skin, red currant, currant leaf, lychee, white stone fruit, pressed flowers, pink peppercorn, orange blossom and fresh cut citrus. It's a very tactile Gewurz, best with spicy Asian fare. 90 Points.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Nov. 12th, 2017. Colour pale yellow. Medium legs. Aromas and flavours, lychee, rose, pink grapefruit, white nectarine, guava. Taste, aromatic, dry, floral fruit, oily texture. Finishes with oily grapefruit. Pairs wonderfully with smoked Balderson (brand) cheese, Oka, and Baby Bell cheese. Great cheese wine. Recommended for cheese lovers. Good value. I will buy this again.
Produced by iconic Alsatian wine producer, Pierre Sparr, Reserve (2016) Gewürztraminer is pronounced on the nose with rosewater, lychee, pink grapefruit and sweet spice. I can just sniff this one all day long; so perfumed and just as lovely on the palate, finishing long with soft citrus flavours. An excellent representation of Gewürztraminer from this region. - Community Wine Reviews
