Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Pierre Lurton 2016 is produced by the owner of Chateau Marjosse, who is also the Managing Director of two First Growth Bordeaux estates: Chateau Cheval Blanc in Saint-Emilion and Chateau d'Yquem in Sauternes. This Bordelais offers aromas of pomegranate, red plum, bell pepper, graphite, spice and cedar. Well defined and balanced, this full-bodied wine provides freshness suitable for any food pairing or to enjoy on its own. Flavors of red currant, pomegranate, bay leaf, mineral, allspice and cedar, will provide satisfaction sip after sip. Enjoy.
From well-known producer, Pierre Lurton, this 2016 red Bordeaux blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon is lush and intense with wild herb, earthy blue floral aromas on the nose and with garrigue herb, black, blueberry flavours and savoury spice on the palate. Tannins are firm and this beauty can easily cellar for another three years, or decant for one hour and enjoy now with a grilled skirt steak and grilled endives. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
